No, a self-exclusion cannot be canselled or ended early. You can change your self-exclusion by replacing it with a new one, but it can never be shorter than the time remaining on your current exclusion.

For us to be able to offer a lifetime self-exclusion, there would have to be a change in the law.

Instead, you can contact the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN – www.arn.se). This can adjudicate disputes in connection with gambling or lotteries.

 

Pre-paid gambling (e.g. a 5-week lotto line) runs until it ends. You cannot renew your gambling in an ongoing self-exclusion.

If, during your self-exclusion, you win on a pre-paid gamble, your winnings are paid into your gambling account with the gambling company concerned. Contact the gambling company’s customer services department and ask for the winnings to be paid into your stated bank account.

 

A gambling company licensed in Sweden has to cross-check with Spelpaus.se every time you try to register with or log in to that gambling company.

The gambling companies have to cross-check Spelpaus.se before they send you any marketing. This is because they must not send marketing or advertising directly to a self-excluded person.

Yes, gambling companies must not send you any direct advertising when you have self-excluded. However, certain forms of gambling are not covered by self-exclusion and you may thus receive direct advertising for them.

 

Gambling companies must not send direct advertising to anyone who has self-excluded. Direct advertising is advertising that is personally addressed to you.

Also check that you have logged out of the gambling websites and apps to which you may have been logged in before the self-exclusion. One tip is to clear the cookies from your browser.
